Setting Up Payments if You Are Under 18

Modified on Thu, 19 Jun at 9:34 AM

Q: I’m under 18—can I still be a Sitter on Bambino?
Absolutely! You can start babysitting on Bambino as long as you're 13 years or older. We're excited to have you in our community!

Q: Why do I need help setting up payments?
Bambino uses Stripe to process payments. Stripe requires that users be at least 18 years old to receive payouts directly. If you're between 13 and 17, you’ll need a parent or legal guardian to help set up your account.

Q: What do I need to do to start receiving payments?
Here’s how to get started:

  1. Ask your parent or legal guardian to help you sign up for Stripe through the Bambino app.

  2. They’ll need to enter their personal information and agree to act as the owner of your Stripe account.

  3. Stripe may request the following from your parent or guardian:

    • Full name

    • Date of birth

    • Last 4 digits of their Social Security Number (for U.S. citizens)

    • Home address

    • A statement confirming they consent to you using the platform and agree to the Terms of Service

    • A photo ID, if verification is needed

Q: Will this affect how I get paid?
Not at all! Once your parent or guardian has completed the setup, you’ll be able to receive your earnings through Stripe just like any other Sitter.

Q: Where can I find more information?
You can read more about Stripe’s requirements here or reach out to us directly—we’re happy to help.

Q: What if I don’t have a parent or guardian who can help?
At this time, Stripe requires a legal guardian to be involved for anyone under 18. You won’t be able to receive payments until this step is completed, so we recommend having this conversation early on.
